The core Science Curriculum includes earth, life and physical science for all students. An active classroom setting accomodates a variety of learning styles, interests, abilities and language proficiencies. Teachers expect student creativity and commitment to learning. The science program encourages students to take a lifelong interest in science and to understand its effects on their daily lives. These criteria will be applied equally to all students, including average, ELL, low-achieving, gifted and talented, special education and ethnic groups under-represented in colleges and universities.
Seventh Grade Life Science curriculum includes:
- The Nature of Science
- The Analysis of Data through Graphing
- Cells
- Heredity, Evolution, and Classification
- The Six Kingdoms of Living Things
- Adaption and the relationship between structure and function in living organisms
- Physical principles in living systems
Eighth Grade Physical Science curriculum includes:
- Measurement and Graphing
- Forces and Motions (physics)
- Weather (meteorology)
- Chemistry
- Astronomy
