TOBACCO PREVENTION
At least 4.5 million adolescents (aged 12 to 17 years) smoke cigarettes in the United States. To help prevent smoking, Lakeview has incorporated the Outreach/Tobacco program to give students an alternative to smoking. To recognize students, Lakeview holds a monthly Breakfast Club. At Breakfast Club, teachers take students out to breakfast to show their appreciation for a positive effort in or out of class. Lakeview also has intramural sports to give students activities at lunch rather than just hanging out and getting into trouble. Outreach is dedicated to helping students maintain a positive and healthy lifestyle. |
