Who We Are at Lakeview Junior High School

School Administrators

JEFF CARLOVSKY, PRINCIPAL

Jeff Carlovsky comes to Orcutt after four years as principal of Cabrillo High School, a five-year tenure as principal of Aberdeen High School in Aberdeen, WA, one year as Principal of Farmersville Jr. High and one year as Assistant Principal at Woodlake High School both near Visalia, CA.

Prior to becoming an administrator, Carlovsky served as an Athletic Director, Head Football, Head Baseball, and Head Softball Coach in the Escondido Union High School District. (North San Diego County) for 23 years.

Carlovsky’s education philosophy always puts students first. He believes in providing positive experiences for all students both within the classroom and out. In his 38 years of education Jeff feels fortunate to have touched the lives of close to 15,000 students.

Carlovsky is most proud of his three grown sons, all working and doing well in their chosen field. He and his wife Betsy enjoy traveling with much of that travel being to visit their five grandchildren. Any chunk of free time can find Jeff working on one of the family ranches in Northern California (a Cowboy at heart).

Tim received his Bachelor's degree in journalism from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and Master's degree in special education from Point Loma Nazarene University. Our vision is that all students at Lakeview Junior High will experience equal access to a well-balanced, challenging education designed to prepare them to think, communicate and achieve to their fullest potential academically, socially, and personally.

Lakeview Junior High was established in the year 1964 by the Orcutt Union School District due to the increased population of Orcutt Junior High. Our school colors are black and gold. Lakeview has been recognized as a California Distinguished School three times: 1988, 1990, and 1996, and awarded National Blue Ribbon status in 1998.
